Artist's statement
My recent work uses digital technologies and image manipulation software to explore my memory of near and distant experience. I am interested in how interpretations of experience are shaped by social history and contemporary culture. Often these interpretations inspire pieces of written text and these become the catalyst for my visual work.
I use found images from popular culture and historical archives and these are combined, manipulated and layered digitally to achieve a tonality and presence that is relevant to the content with which I am involved.
